Who is Frills?

A designer of jewelry for a little shy of 10 years in various mediums, Caitlin has finally landed on hand formed sculptural pieces that are meant to be lived and loved in. As a collector of jewelry since she was young, she wanted to create pieces that can be enjoyed now and passed on later.

“My goal is not perfection, that is not the craft that I enjoy. My intention is organic, it is bold and ruthless in it’s authenticity and it makes a sort of noise, sometimes a quiet whisper, other times, a noisier sentiment. This sculptural jewelry has quality, texture, personality, and a vibe of it’s own.”

Enjoy!

A note on the care of metals

A note on the care of metals *

  • Bronze and Sterling Silver metals both oxidize and tarnish, but they do so differently.

Bronze may or may not react to your skin’s pH levels. If they do, they might leave a greenish-blue hue, this can be washed off easily. Remove when you sleep, when you shower or wash the dishes, but wear when you’re living and loving on life.

Sterling silver oxidizes from the air (or components in the air). Your skin’s oils when wearing it will help keep it shiny and bright.

  • If you aren’t going to be wearing your pieces for awhile, store your bronze and sterling silver in an airtight bag or jewelry box to keep it’s shine.

Place the anti-tarnish cloths provided to you in the airtight compartment.

  • Nothing fancy required here.

To clean tarnished bronze, make a paste out of baking soda and lemon juice, rub with a soft cloth.

To clean tarnished sterling silver, mild soap, water, and soft cloth should do the trick.
